Winner of 2006 Best Award

The 2006 BeST award for product design (non-consumer category) went to the Gallagher Solar Electric Fence Energizer S50 designed by MW Design. All of the tooling for the award winning S50 was designed and built by Sunplas Engineering.

John Amis, General Manger of Sunplas Engineering was delighted to be involved in such a project. As John describes, it was “an exciting, challenging project to work on with the Gallagher project team and design supported by Mike Williams of MW Design. Particular focus was required for the extremely highly polished lens faces and ability to mold the finished parts flat.”

“The concurrent engineering approach shortened the development process by over 25% and Sunplas were flexible enough to cope with last minute design changes such as the mounting of the large solar panel. We needed to make it significantly stronger as new standards were imposed requiring us to drop from 1M face down onto compacted gravel. Sunplas worked with us to deliver a superior product, the BEST in 2006. ”

The S50 has already sold thousands in the USA and was showcased this year at the National Field Days at Mystery Creek.
